Who are you?
It's a question that sounds simple, but for many of us, it becomes one of the most important—and difficult—questions we'll ever answer.
For the first eighteen years of our lives, we're constantly told who we are. We're someone's son or daughter. A student. An athlete. A member of the team. A representative of the school. A member of a church. A part of a family. Labels, roles, and expectations surround us from every direction.
And yet, somewhere along the way, most of us begin asking a deeper question:
"Is that really who I am?"
In this episode, we dive into the search for identity and why so many people wrestle with discovering who they are apart from the labels that have been placed upon them. We discuss the tension between wanting to fit in while simultaneously wanting to stand out. We want to belong to something bigger than ourselves, but we also want to be known as unique individuals with our own purpose and calling.
At some point, each of us reaches a crossroads where we must decide whether our identity will be determined by culture, achievements, relationships, careers, social media, or something far more eternal.
For followers of Christ, that raises an even bigger question:
What does it actually mean to be part of the Church?
Beyond attending services or belonging to a congregation, what does it mean to live as a disciple of Jesus? How should our identity in Christ shape the way we view ourselves—and the way we see others?
Together, we explore what it looks like to view people through the eyes of Christ, to move beyond surface-level interactions, and to recognize that every conversation, every encounter, and every relationship is an opportunity to reflect the love of Jesus to a world searching for hope.
Whether it's a coworker, a stranger at the grocery store, a difficult family member, or someone who seems completely different from us, every interaction becomes a chance to be the hands and feet of Christ.
Because when our identity is firmly rooted in Him, we stop asking, "Who am I supposed to be?" and begin asking, "How can I show people who Jesus is?"
Join us as we discuss identity, belonging, purpose, and what it means to live out the love of Christ in our everyday lives.
The world will spend a lifetime telling you who you should be. Christ invites you to discover who you were created to become.
