Megan Ashton spent eighteen years trying to heal. Clinical hypnotherapy. Yoga in India. Holistic nutrition. A week of Iowaska in Colombia that overwhelmed her nervous system and left her sick for a year. Nothing touched the bulimia, the alcohol dependency, or the wounds underneath them.
By the end of it, she believed she was broken.
Then a friend in Bali told her to try a breathwork class. Within fifteen minutes of conscious connected breathing, she was in a non-ordinary state of consciousness, brought back to her three-year-old self, crying for love and touch she never received. Wounds she did not even know she was carrying.
In this conversation, Megan explains how breathwork actually works, why your stress bucket is already full, and what the difference is between everyday breathing practices and the kind that can drain the load you have been carrying your entire life. She also talks about how to find a safe facilitator and why some of what is being sold as breathwork is doing more harm than good.
This one is for anyone who has tried everything and still feels stuck. And for anyone whose nervous system is running on full and does not know why one more small thing feels like the end of the world.
