  • EP 5: the inner music (nada yoga)
    2025/05/07

Sandy shares one of their favourite verses from the Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā on the topic of nadam - the yoga of sound. Keith shares from his experience as a life-long musician, and how it relates to yoga practice. There is mention of flow state, inner and outer listening, and how hearing happens with much more than just our ears...

    ------

    Mantra:

    namaḥ śivāya gurave nāda-bindu-kalātmane

    nirañjana-padaṁ yāti nityaṁ tatra parāyaṇaḥ

~ Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā Chapter 4, Verse 1

Interpretation by Sharon Gannon and David Life:

“Salutations to the nadam, which is the inner guide and inner life, the dispenser of happiness to all! It is the inner guru appearing as nada, bindu and kala. One who is devoted to the inner guru, the nada, the inner music, obtains the highest bliss.”

  • EP 4: what is missing?
    2025/04/30

    Our most controversial episode yet....

Keith prompts a compelling discussion that goes in an unexpected direction about what's missing in today's yoga. Featuring some hot takes and open conversation about difficult subject matters - and why yoga should be a radical practice for social change.

    ------

    Quote:

"Yoga is the state where you are missing nothing"

~ Sharon Gannon (quoting Sri Brahmananda Saraswati)

  • BONUS 1: ritual feat. Seema Johari Agarwal
    2025/04/27

In our first BONUS episode, Keith is joined by none other than Seema Johari Agarwal, an Indian scholar and direct lineage holder - a dedicated student of her father, the late great Harish Johari. Keith chants a beautiful mantra that is sung thrice daily at the Johari house and they discuss the importance of ritual in multiple areas of life.

    ------

    Śloka:

brahmārpaṇaṁ brahma havir brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam

    brahmaiva tena gantavyaṁ brahma-karma-samādhinā

    - from the Bhagavad Gītā Chapter 4, verse 24

Translation by Sharon Gannon and David Life:

"Perceive Brahman everywhere and in all things. Brahman is the ladle; Brahman is the food; Brahman is the fire; Brahman has prepared the food and Brahman will be the eater of the food. Finally Brahman is the goal to be reached."
