Welcome to Not for nuthin!

Hosted by former coworkers turned business owners Karina and Desi, Not for nuthin is where New York attitude meets Southern charm. After buying the company they once worked for, these two friends have spent years navigating business ownership, friendship, family, travel, and all the unexpected twists life throws their way. Now they're bringing those conversations to the microphone—unfiltered, unscripted, and usually with a lot of laughter.

Each week, you'll hear honest conversations about entrepreneurship, women's friendships, work-life balance, marriage, motherhood, menopause, leadership, personal growth, and the everyday moments that remind us we're all figuring it out together. Whether they're swapping travel stories, sharing lessons from running a business, or laughing through life's chaos, one thing never changes: they're keeping it real. Because not for nuthin...life's too short to take yourself too seriously.

New episodes every-other-week.

  • Not for Nuthin... A Waiting Room Tells You Everything About Society
    2026/10/06

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

Want to know what people are really like? Put them in a waiting room and make them sit there for 45 minutes.

In this episode, Karina and Desi break down the strange little world of waiting rooms—from doctor's offices and Social Security to restaurants and the biggest waiting room of them all: the airport.

They're talking speakerphone conversations nobody asked to hear, people watching, questionable public outfits, impatient travelers, complete strangers becoming therapists, and that awkward moment when you're definitely listening to someone else's conversation...while pretending you're not.

Then things take a turn when Karina shares how making new friends at a restaurant somehow ended with her children convincing her they might be swingers. Yes. That happened.

Because not for nuthin...give people enough time to sit around together and you're going to get a pretty good look at society.

  • Not for Nuthin... We've Seen Some Things
    2026/09/22

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

After years of traveling together, buying a business, surviving COVID, and somehow avoiding a few near-death experiences, Karina and Desi have collected more than a few stories.

In this episode, they share some of their funniest travel adventures, the moment they unexpectedly became business owners, culture shocks from overseas, heated toilet seats (yes, really), running on empty, close calls on the road, and the lessons they've learned from navigating life's unexpected detours.

Some stories are hilarious. Some are stressful. All of them remind us that the best memories usually come from the moments that didn't go according to plan.

Because not for nuthin...if you can laugh through the chaos, you'll make it through just about anything.

  • Not for Nuthin... Nobody Wants to Work Anymore... Or Are We Just Getting Old?
    2026/09/08

Hey! I'd love to hear your thoughts, send me a voice note.

Is it really harder to find great employees these days...or have we just become "those people" who complain about the younger generation?

In this episode, Karina and Desi dive into one of the biggest conversations happening in workplaces today. They share funny (and sometimes frustrating) hiring stories, debate whether COVID permanently changed work culture, and discuss what makes an employee truly stand out.

Along the way, they talk about interview disasters, work ethic, AI in the workplace, balancing life and career, and why great teams are built on mutual respect, not just expectations.

Spoiler alert...by the end, they might just admit that they're getting a little old.
