Perched on a rocky shore above an endless bay, Selmere shines at the edge of a wild continent. Merchants crowd lantern-lit markets, bards dance for coins, and hooded figures make deals in shadowed taverns. But beneath the city’s bustle, something strange is stirring. Shadows move like water. Doorways lead to the wrong rooms. Travelers lose hours of memory. Edicts bearing the king’s seal remind citizens that all Shadewalkers—those able to step into the silvery half-place beside our own—must register with the Crown. Still, on a beautiful day in Selmere, such mysteries hardly concern three simple adventurers.

The Nomads are playing Daggerheart! This is a very special one shot, because it became the precursor to an upcoming crowdfunded series! Santa’s Village is in a honey cookie craze thanks to trending recipes on TinselTok, and the elves have shipped the world’s entire supply of honey to the North Pole to accommodate the demand. But when our ursine anti-heroes show up looking for the hoarded honey, they discover there’s more to this village than its candy-coated exterior. Revolution is brewing in the hearts of some enterprising elves who buck against Santa’s tyrannical moral rulings, and there’s no telling whether political turmoil will help or hinder our bears’ foolproof plan: get in, get the honey, get out.

Welcome to Merston. Population: who cares? It’s a town like any other — quiet streets, strip malls, Friday night football. The kind of place nobody notices, and that’s just how most people like it.

But under the pumpkin-spice and marching band parades, something else is humming. A haunting is brushed off as carbon monoxide poisoning, a creature hunting in the local playground is explained away as a rabid dog, and the nearby nature preserve… well, you don’t want to know what’s buzzing out there.

Most towns have secrets. Merston’s secrets bite. And tonight, those secrets are waking up.
