Every inner circle has a center and an edge. Most Christians worry about both: whether we are close enough to the middle, and whether the wrong person is getting in. In Luke 9:46–50, the disciples argue over which of them is the greatest, and minutes later they try to shut down a man casting out demons in Jesus' name because he was not one of them. Pastor Daniel Steeves walks through Jesus' answer to both problems, which turns out to be one answer: the one who is least among you is the one who is great.
Greatness in the kingdom is measured by who you are willing to stand next to, and it costs something in both directions: your place in the ranking system, and your right to decide who belongs. Find more messages and written reflections at litchfieldfbc.org.
