The FBI's Most Wanted Fraudster just touched down in Seattle — extradited from India after months on the run — and he ran his scheme out of a Tacoma grocery store. Manjit Singh Bedi, 64, is charged with six counts of wire fraud for orchestrating a brazen SNAP/EBT cash-back racket: run food stamp cards for inflated amounts, hand recipients half in cash, pocket the rest. Federal prosecutors say it cost taxpayers millions.

This is the exact same scheme Sean has been covering in connection with Lamb Seafood and the broader EBT fraud ecosystem that Pacific Northwest politicians keep pretending doesn't exist. Owner Nick Shirley says Lamb Seafood did nothing wrong. Now a federal case involving a nearly identical operation will play out in open court.

Meanwhile, Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson campaigns on affordability while dismissing food stamp fraud as a non-issue — even as FBI agents were hunting Bedi across two continents and Seattle inflation runs a full point above the national average. The fraud isn't just a line item; it's a policy failure wearing a progressive bumper sticker.
