Today we are cutting straight to the heart of what real integrity looks like: love is moral courage, and moral courage is love. In modern culture and fundamentalist religion, moral courage is too often twisted into an excuse for self righteous bullying. People climb up on existential pulpits to tell everyone else how to live just so they can feel comfortable. That is not courage; it is cowardice. True moral courage does not police other people. It has the strength to stand down from judgment, step away from codependency, and simply love.

Jesus simplified the entire biblical narrative into one law: love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. When you actually take that command seriously, it forces you to look under your own hood instead of tinkering with everyone else’s mechanics. Real courage requires an honest inner inventory that roots out personal insecurities, judgments, and the selfish urge to control. It means tending to your own porch, letting your neighbors live their lives, and meeting them with generous grace and deep mercy.

Churches across America are losing people rapidly because institutions have traded unselfish love for self righteous arrogance. In an era dominated by political sides, tribal division, and demonizing the other, choosing unconditional love is the ultimate act of defiance. It is a steep mountain climb and a lifelong pilgrimage, but it is the only path that brings genuine spiritual life. True strength is found when we stop weaponizing faith and start seeing the face of Jesus in the least among us.

In this episode, we recite Love’s Creed, meditate on the Lord’s Prayer, and practice a grounding breathwork exercise to settle into authentic presence. I also challenge all of us to practice the awkward, powerful discipline of looking someone in the eye and intentionally telling them, "I love you." The biggest mistake we make is thinking we have time. Let us stop giving energy to division and go into the world to do something beautiful, because ugly has been done to death.

Love is the only credible value of authentic spirituality. Our world around us here in the 21st century is veritably shouting and screaming for love. People are not looking for religious formulas or cliches; they are dying for a love that is wider, deeper, and higher than ordinary soundbites.

Genuine empathy is the direct result of authentic love. To empathize is to enter the pathos, the pain of another person, setting aside self-seeking narcissism so that genuine empathy can appear. Every scream of duress and heartbreak we see around us is simply humankind longing for that deep connection.

The only cause worthy of religious or spiritual energy is a love so real that a watching world might look at it and be positively shocked. We are called to stop the finger-pointing and harsh self-righteousness, and instead step into a love that eviscerates and vaporizes shame.

I want to spend the rest of my life in this oceanic exploration, finding a way to salve the wounds and quench the thirst of a big, wide world. The biggest mistake we make is thinking we still have time. Be present, be kind, love more, and answer the cry of the world around you.

Ever caught yourself yelling at someone in traffic who cannot even hear you?

I have. And what I found in that moment was not just frustration. It was cynicism. That quiet assumption that everyone else is selfish, careless, or out to win some race that does not exist.

But here is the turn. That moment became a teacher. Instead of matching the energy, I heard a different voice. Randy, love that person. Because a wounded soul does not need my judgment. It needs love.

There is so much to learn about the value of Love's spirituality in a cynical world. And once learned, to sweetly practice. You only know as much as you do. St. Francis said that, and I keep coming back to it. Love is not just something we believe. It is something we do. When we do love, then we know love.
