    In week 4 of our Hebrews series, Pastor Mike shows that Jesus is our Great High Priest who fully sympathizes with our weakness. He knows hunger, thirst, betrayal, rejection, grief, and temptation—yet without sin. Because of this, we can confidently approach the throne of grace for mercy and help in our time of need. Pastor Mike walks us through the role of the high priest and the temple—from the altar and laver to the showbread, lampstand, and incense—culminating in the torn veil and the mercy seat. Jesus is the Gate, the Lamb of God, the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, and our Intercessor who declares, “It is finished.” His perfect sacrifice ends the old system and gives us full access to God.     Hebrews 4:12 calls the word of God living, active, and sharper than any two-edged sword. The Bible isn’t powerful if it remains closed—it comes alive when we engage with it and let it engage us. The logos (Jesus, the Word made flesh) and the rhema (the Spirit’s spoken word) cut to the core of who we are, exposing thoughts and intentions while shaping our lives. We’re reminded that the Word is not meant to be hurled from a distance but used up close in relationship, with grace and truth. He reminds us that although we are imperfect, Jesus continues working in us because of His love.
