It seems that the form that most teams ended last season in is carrying over to this new season. Manchester United, however, seemed to buck the trend. After a very successful second half to last season's campaign, Michael Carrick's men had a nice opportunity to pick up points against newly promoted Hull. Two lapses on set pieces saw the Red Devils drop all three points. Spurs, after spending heavily this summer, were dispatched mercilessly by Brentford at the G. Tech stadium. Roberto de Zerbi will have his work cut out for him after Spurs splashed so lavishly this summer. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City all took three points and will hope to build title challenging credentials off of those victories.
