Today’s reading takes us to Hosea 12, where God refuses to let Israel hide behind their sacred heritage. They could speak of Jacob, Moses, Bethel, the prophets, and the Exodus—but inherited history was no substitute for present holiness. Israel carried Jacob’s name, but they had forgotten Jacob’s God.

Hosea 12 reminds us that we cannot live off yesterday’s faithfulness, someone else’s obedience, or a family legacy of devotion. God is calling His people to return, remember His name, and stop mistaking prosperity for innocence. So today, read Hosea 12 and let it search your heart: do not hide behind your heritage—walk with God today and build a faithful one.

Today’s reading takes us to Hosea 11, where we see the heart of a brokenhearted Father. Israel was determined to leave God, but God was unwilling to surrender Israel. He remembers loving His son, calling him out of Egypt, teaching him to walk, feeding him, carrying him, and drawing him with cords of kindness—yet Israel kept running from the hands that had held them.

Hosea 11 reminds us that God is not a cold-hearted judge eager to punish; He is a grieving Father whose love is deeper than Israel’s rebellion. And this chapter points us to Jesus, the faithful Son who succeeds where Israel failed and bears judgment so wandering children can come home. So today, read Hosea 11 and remember: Israel persisted in rebellion, but God persisted in relentless love.

Today’s reading takes us to Hosea 10, where Israel uses God’s prosperity to finance their idolatry. God planted the vine, watered it, and blessed it—but instead of giving the harvest back to Him, Israel used His gifts to build altars for false gods. Prosperity that does not become worship eventually becomes an idol.

Hosea 10 reminds us that false gods always fail. Israel trusted kings, armies, golden calves, and fortified cities, but every lesser god was eventually carried away, exposed, or destroyed. So today, read Hosea 10 and ask the Lord to break up the fallow ground of your heart: do not waste His blessings, do not worship what can be carried away, and sow righteousness while there is still time.
