Burnout is a bitch. We all know it, and yet we all fall for it! ADHD'ers in particular. It's a nasty cycle, and even nastier is the main culprit behind it. Hint: it has to do with the Patriarchy (ugh). The solution? 42%!

Basically it's now been proven that 42% of your day needs to be dedicated to rest. This is backed by science (and science fiction). Allie talks about the book she learned this from, and what she is taking from it. And how you can learn to break the stress cycle, too!

  • Choosing Happiness
    2021/04/16

Welcome to the Neurodivergent Dreamers podcast. Your host, Allie, is the founder and owner of Mortar & Mystery—a rebellious, liberating, and radical wellness business empowering womxn to be their own revolution. She is here to steer you through the shitstorm of the hard times and invite more forgiveness at all times. Allie is here to cut through the bullshit noise, challenge your limiting beliefs, and lay it all out with brutal honesty and vulnerability. She also happens to have ADHD.

In this week's episode, Allie talks about the dangers of waiting for happiness to happen to you instead of choosing it now. People often hold onto the idea that "I will do XYZ and then  I will be happy" or "I will be XYZ and then I will be perfect" or "I will have XYZ and then I will be satisfied."

Allie questions whether you need to wait at all, and if maybe--just maybe--the thing you are waiting for has been waiting for YOU to choose it all along.

Today I'm talking to you about sex, sexuality and gender identity, and the perils of the Ideal Womxn when you have an ADHD brain. Interwoven with my own experiences and stories, as always. These are my experiences as an ADHD womxn, and the deconstructing I have gone through to live a life full of love now.

If you're called to work with me in a 1:1 Personalized Virtual Session (SIT and/or Reiki), you can book on my website: mortarandmystery.ca
