  • What Every Parent Needs to Know About Reflexes
    2026/04/03
What if the challenges we see in our children—difficulty focusing, emotional outbursts, clumsiness, or struggles with learning—aren’t just phases… but clues?
Welcome to the podcast.Today, we’re diving into a topic that many parents have never heard of—but once they do, everything starts to make sense.
Reflex Integration: Is this the missing link? From the moment a baby is born, they come equipped with a set of innate reflexes—automatic movements that are essential for survival and early development. These reflexes are meant to emerge, do their job, and then integrate as the brain matures. But what happens when they don’t?What happens when these primitive reflexes stay active longer than they should?
In this episode, we’ll explore what innate reflexes really are, why they play such a critical role in growth and development, and how unintegrated reflexes can quietly impact everything from learning and behavior to emotional regulation and physical coordination.
We’ll also talk about the long-term effects of active reflexes—and most importantly—why this matters for you as a parent.Because understanding what’s happening beneath the surface could change the way you see your child… and how you support them moving forward.
    Let’s get started.

  • Welcome to the whole-body conversation
    2026/03/08
Episode 1: Introduction – What I Do & How I Serve In this very first episode, I’m sharing the heart behind my work and why I’m so passionate about supporting families and collaborating with providers across Indiana. I dive into what myofunctional therapy really is, how it impacts airway health, oral development, feeding, sleep, and long-term function—and why it matters far beyond childhood. I also explain my role as a lactation consultant, how early feeding challenges connect to oral function, and why looking at the whole picture is essential for lasting outcomes. You’ll hear how my business is structured, how I work with families, what collaboration looks like in my practice, and how providers can connect and refer with confidence. Whether you’re a parent seeking answers or a holistic professional looking to build stronger partnerships, this episode sets the foundation for what’s to come. This is where the conversation begins—about function, feeding, and building a more connected wellness community.

  • To release or not to release the tongue, that is the question
    2026/03/01
Not every tongue-tie causes problems — but when it does, it can affect: 1. Feeding (especially in babies)
    • Difficulty latching during breastfeeding
    • Clicking sounds while feeding
    • Poor weight gain
    • Maternal nipple pain
In infants, this is the most common reason doctors consider treatment. 2. Speech In some children, tongue-tie may affect pronunciation of sounds that require tongue elevation (like “t,” “d,” “l,” “r,” “th”).
However, many children with mild tongue-tie speak completely normally. 3. Oral health & function
    • Difficulty licking lips or clearing food from teeth
    • Gaps between lower front teeth
    • Trouble with certain oral movements (kissing, playing wind instruments)
Should it be done sooner rather than later? It depends on symptoms, not just appearance. 👶 In newborns If feeding problems are present, early treatment is often recommended because:
    • Feeding difficulties can affect growth
    • Early treatment is quick and simple
    • Babies usually heal very fast
