Nashville Predators

What One thing needs to happen for them to make the playoffs this year Kara?

On June 2, 2026, MacFarland departed the Avalanche to become president of hockey operations and general manager of the Nashville Predators.

Acquired:

Forward Mavrik Bourque (RFA) and defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin ($3.25 million cap hit).

Dallas Stars received: A second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft (originally from Vegas)

The next day they extended the Quebec native to a 6 year 5.5 million dollar deal.

He made two trades with his previous team:

June 24, 2026 Trade: Jack Drury Package

The Avalanche traded center Jack Drury, forward Chase Bradley, and a 2029 third-round draft pick to the Predators in exchange for young forwards Fedor Svechkov and Zachary L'Heureux. [1]

Team Receiving | Assets Acquired
Nashville Predators | Jack Drury, Chase Bradley, 2029 3rd-round pick
Colorado Avalanche | Fedor Svechkov, Zachary L'Heureux

Interesting that svechkov and l’heruex were Extended in March and then traded away 2 months later

June 16, 2026 Trade: Ross Colton Package

The Avalanche sent forward Ross Colton and goaltender Isak Posch to Nashville in exchange for goaltender Magnus Chrona along with 2026 and 2027 third-round draft picks. [1]

Team Receiving | Assets Acquired
Nashville Predators | Ross Colton, Isak Posch
Colorado Avalanche | Magnus Chrona, 2026 3rd-round pick, 2027 3rd-round pick

Does coach Andrew brunette have to lean on his cheaper goaltending juustus Annunen, the veteran Jusse Saros to have a better chance to make the playoffs?

What’s the deal with defence?

9 on the roster.

What’s GM Chris Macfarlane plan with next years:

UFA veteran Ryan O’Reilly

RFA Matthew Wood

RFA Ryan Ufko

What one thing that you would be happy to say about the team if we talked again in April.

New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes wasn't thrilled with a joke made by ESPN analyst AJ Mleczko during their interview in the first intermission of Thursday's season opener against the Philadelphia Flyers.

“Let's wrap you in bubble wrap and use plastic cutlery this year. Does that sound good?" Mleczko asked.”

The New York Rangers goaltender Igor Sheng scored complete the win for the Rangers last night.

Roughly 20 NHL Goalie goals in NHL history but six in the last three years….

Why has goalie scoring gone up?
