Welcome back to SportsVoice with Mike Formisano for a look at the start of NFL Week 2 and the biggest stories heading into the weekend.

Mike opens with the Buffalo Bills’ win over the Detroit Lions, as Josh Allen delivers another huge performance and Buffalo moves to 2–0 in its first game at the new Highmark Stadium. He breaks down what worked for the Bills, where Detroit still looks dangerous, and why Buffalo already appears to have a firm grip on the AFC East.

From there, Mike previews the rest of the NFL Week 2 slate, including Jets–Packers at MetLife Stadium, Commanders–Cowboys, Colts–Chiefs, and Giants–Rams on Monday night. He also looks at some of the biggest questions around the league as teams try to build momentum or avoid an early-season hole.

On the college side, Mike recaps Syracuse’s loss to Pitt, what it means for Fran Brown and the Orange, and why the changing landscape of NIL and the transfer portal is making it harder for programs outside the sport’s financial elite to keep pace.

He also checks in on a few other stories across New York sports, including Mathew Barzal’s injury status with the Islanders, the latest Yankees and Mets notes, and Jalen Brunson making an appearance on Law & Order: SVU.

NFL Week 2 is underway, college football is rolling, and the New York football conversation is getting louder.

The final whistle doesn’t end this conversation! Follow SportsVoice with Mike Formisano across social media:
