The Bears just inked DAndre Swift to a smart, flexible three-year deal worth $33.75M with $19M guaranteed—giving them cap relief and control before his age-29 season. He exploded for 124 yards and 3 TDs in Week 1, now ranking 4th in rushing and top-tier in PPR fantasy scoring. This move isn’t just about loyalty—it’s strategic chess.

Sterling Shepard is back in New York—this time with the Jets, starting on their practice squad after a brief Texans stint. Signed to fill the void left by injured first-round pick Omar Cooper Jr., Shepard brings eight seasons of Giants experience and nearly 5,000 receiving yards. His Tampa Bay tenure ended on a classy note, with a bonus payout despite missed incentives. With Cooper and another receiver sidelined, Shepard could be elevated as early as Week 2 to bolster the Jets’ depleted receiving corps.

Bo Melton is back on the active roster as a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, promoted from the practice squad after a standout 2022 season where he hauled in 16 catches for 218 yards and a touchdown. Originally drafted by the Seahawks in the 7th round, Melton has been with Green Bay since 2022 and brings valuable special teams experience and locker-room familiarity. With the team reeling after a brutal 39-22 loss to the Vikings and facing a tough upcoming game against the Jets, Melton’s return offers much-needed depth and stability as the Packers seek to bounce back from a shaky start.
