September 2026 | Season 03, Episode 08
Protecting Our Legacy, Living Well & Building Community Power

What does it take to protect our families, age well, and build a more accountable Akron? Co-hosts Dr. Lathardus Goggins II and Willie B welcome September’s special guest, G. Felicia Williams, Health Committee Chair, for a conversation connecting family legacy, community wellness, and organized action.

Recapping the September 17 general membership meeting, the hosts explore estate planning, probate, and the importance of family conversations about inheritance, beneficiaries, and protecting family homes. The discussion underscores the need to turn information into action to preserve wealth across generations.

Williams shares a health and wellness moment focused on aging well—maintaining strength, independence, relationships, and quality of life. She highlights movement, preventive care, social connection, and upcoming mobile mammography opportunities.

The episode also features updates on education advocacy, veterans’ support, voter engagement, and local ballot proposals addressing housing discrimination, rental fees, security deposits, and police oversight.

The Black History Moment celebrates Nichelle Nichols’ groundbreaking portrayal of Lieutenant Uhura as Star Trek marks its 60th anniversary, exploring representation, Afrofuturism, and why seeing ourselves in the future matters today.

Listen, share, and stay engaged—because knowledge is power, and organized power makes change happen.
