Musical Shenanigans is a podcast about Rolling Stone’s ranking of the Top 500 Albums of All Time. But it is absolutely not what you think.
Yes, we talk about the albums. But we do things a little differently around here.
We choose two albums at random, put them in a cage together, and let them fight it out to determine which one is better. Each match is part of a March Madness-style Playoff Bracket, with the goal of determining, for ourselves, the best album of all time, based on our limited knowledge, lack of credibility, and non-existent credentials.
We also discuss current music-related news and other topics, come up with really stupid quizzes. And sometimes, if we are feeling saucy, we may give you a song, fake commercial, or some other such nonsense.

Please invite Cory, Dave, and Scott (alphabetically by height) into your ears for a whole new way of ranking albums.

  • Listening Party: Rubber Soul
    2026/08/04

We're officially in the back nine of our Elite Eight round ... OK, that doesn't sound quite right.

Let's try that again: we did four already but now we're steady and then they went one-two-three-Rubber Soul. Nope, still doesn't work.

OK fine, let's just cut to the point. We're listening to Rubber Soul today. Join us, won't you?

  • Listening Party: Rumours
    2026/06/21

We originally recorded this on Mother's Day, but we were bound and determined to get it out by Father's Day. Our Elite Eight Listening Parties continue - this time featuring Fleetwood Mac's 1977 classic Rumours: a therapy session masking as an album. Rumours takes on the album from our last Listening Party: Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy.

In our middle discussion, we pick apart the rise and fall of B-sides, including those that became as popular - or in some cases, even more popular - than their A-side partners.

If you've ever been through a bad breakup, this one's for you. Turn down the lights, grab a drink and your unprocessed trauma, and tell us all about it. We got you. You're better off without 'em anyway.

  • Centerpiece #2 - Our Dinner With Ye
    2026/03/25

    Greetings all,

This harkens back to the year 2022 - a full lifetime ago.

The centerpiece comes from our most downloaded show called "Dinner Theater" and the presumption is that it is due to this bit. However, we have been known to be very, very wrong.

The joke is old, but there is an explainer in the beginning (yes, mansplaining pairs well with Ye, don't ya think?).

As always, we appreciate you listening.

    Peace, Love, and Coffee,

    Dave, Scott, and Cory
