  • Spider-Man Brand New Day Review
    2026/08/12
Two billion dollars in the bank already and Spider-Man Brand New Day is already one of the biggest hits of 2026 and rightly so. Our full team are finally back to discuss all of this best moments from this years Marvel and Sony collaboration. Make sure you've watched the movie before you jump into our fully spoiler filled chat.Synopsis for our Spider-Man Brand New Day Movie ReviewDirected by Destin Daniel Cretin.Written by: Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.Based on characters by - Steve Ditko and Stan LeeFour years after Dr. Strange erased Peter Parker from everyone’s memory, Peter has completely committed himself to being Spider-Man. He visits Aunt May’s grave, secretly checks in on Ned Leeds and MJ at MIT, and spends every other waking hour fighting crime across New York. When a tank goes on a rampage, Spider-Man first has to stop vigilante Frank Castle before stopping the tank. Inside, Peter finds a confused woman and something much stranger: an unseen entity that jumps from body to body inside the Department of Damage Control, eventually freeing Mac Gargan, aka The Scorpion. Yelena Bolova tells Peter this isn’t ordinary mind control. It's small potatoes but the attacks are connected to something called “V-Max.”Stranger things get even more complicated when Ned returns to New York. Peter secretly follows him to a house-warming party, where he also sees MJ — now with another boyfriend. The sight of her sends Peter spiralling, and soon his own spider DNA begins to mutate. With help from Dr. Bruce Banner, Peter manages to create a device to suppress the changes. But when Spider-Man finally tracks the entity to The Scorpion, it possesses MJ and threatens to kill her. Peter discovers the truth: the entity is actually the mutant Jean Grey, who is searching Damage Control for V-Max. Jean takes control of the Hulk, leading to a massive fight with Spider-Man and Frank Castle. They eventually separate Jean from Hulk, but something goes horribly wrong — No Banner, No girl, only Hulk!Peter manages to calm Hulk and capture Jean, but she mentions the name "Sarah" before passing out. With help from MJ and Yelena, Peter discovers that Sarah is Jean’s missing sister, who was experimented on by Damage Control and Director Metzger. And the mysterious V-Max? It was nothing more than words written on an air-conditioning unit in the room where Sarah died. When Jean learns the truth, her grief explodes into rage, and she takes control of a kilometre of New York and its citizens. Peter fights his way through mind-controlled Hand ninjas to reach her, then allows Jean inside his mind. There, through memories of Aunt May, Peter convinces Jean that she is loved and promises to help her.But before he can save her, Frank Castle takes a sniper shot at Jean. Peter uses his new abilities to get Jean out of the way — and takes the bullet himself. Jean keeps him alive long enough for the doctors at Metro-General Hospital to save him. When Peter wakes up, Frank helps him escape as New York celebrates Spider-Man as a hero. Peter returns to his anonymous life, until he runs into Ned at a local bodega. This time, Peter introduces himself. He uses their old handshake, and Ned immediately knows how to complete it. For just a moment, it seems like his oldest friend might remember him after all.Cast of Spider-Man No Way HomeTom Holland - Peter Parker/Spider-ManZendaya - MJJacob Batalon -NedMarisa Tomei - Aunt MayMark Ruffalo - Bruce Banner/HulkJon Bernthal - Frank Castle/PunisherSadie Sink - Jean GreyLiza Colón-Zayas - Detective Jean DeWolffTramell Tillman - William 'Bill' MetzgerNaomi Watts (The Impossible) - voice of EV in suitMichael Mando - Mac Gargan / ScorpionSubscribe to TV Podcast IndustriesIf you want to keep up with us and all of our podcasts please subscribe to the podcast over at https://tvpodcastindustries.com where we will continue to podcast about multiple TV shows we hope you'll love.Next Time on TV Podcast IndustriesWe'll be back next in the MCU with VisionQuest which we expect to see in October followed by Avengers Doomsday in December. • Thunderbolts* Movie Review
    2025/05/04
We're back in the cinema for the 36th MCU Movie and our Thunderbolts* Movie Review. The final movie in Phase 5 is great fun but has such a strong heart to it. We'd highly recommend going to see this in the cinema.Spoiler Filled Synopsis for Thunderbolts*Directed by - Julius OnahStory by - Eric PearsonScreenplay by - Eric Pearson and Joanna CaloSince her sister Natasha died. Yelena Belova has just been going through the motions. Successfully complete her mission, go home alone, think about what she’s done and wait for another mission. Rinse, Repeat. Yelena needs a change and wants a more public-facing job. She visits her former fake father Aleksi Shastakov AKA The Red Guardian to find out how he copes. Aleksi just wants to get some missions like Yelena. But her boss Valentina Allegra De Fontaine has other things on her mind as she’s being impeached for her nefarious activities by Congressman Gary with the backing of newly elected Congressman James Buchanan Barnes. Valentina needs to create separation from all of the things that could impeach her and so she arranges a mission for each of her major assets to target each other hoping to kill them all and freeing herself from them. In the bunker Yelena accidentally releases an experiment named Bob in her fight against John Walker and while Ghost kills her target Taskmaster they soon realise they are trapped. They team up together to find their way out and Aleksi arrives in his Red Guardian Limo to help save them, but Bob is captured by Valentina and is taken to her new tower in New York City. As the rest of the rag tag outfit try to escape, Bucky captures them all to use them in his case against Valentina. Arriving in New York they soon have other problems as they realise that Bob is much more than he seemed. Realising her plan failed and her assets are still very much alive, Valentina invites them all to the former Avengers HQ in New York and shows off Bob’s new persona as The Sentry. A superhero in Valentina’s control. Despite what they had done to help Bob he is tasked with defeating this new team, tentatively named The Thunderbolts. After being easily beaten by this new super powered being the group go their separate ways but it’s not long until they learn there is something much more sinister behind The Sentry. Bob had bipolar disorder long before going through the experiment which gave him superpowers. His extreme highs have created the Sentry but his opposite side creates The Void, a dark being which pulls everyone around him into their darkest memory.Yelena is willingly taken by the void so she can try to help Bob. The rest of the Thunderbolts - Red Guardian, Ghost, Bucky and John Walker - all join her in the void. The team come together and help Bob to overcome the Void and return the light to New York City. But the act wipes Bob of his memory of what happened. The new team join together again to capture Valentina for her crimes but she brings them in front of the Press and reveals this was her plan all along and has “officially” created The New Avengers to mixed reactions from the world, especially from Sam Wilson the new Captain America. In the mid credit scene Red Guardian proudly pushes a box of Wheaties cereal with the team on the box on anyone who will list. After the credits the New Avengers are in Avengers tower discussing the upcoming legal battle over their name as an extra dimensional ship is detected. As they locate and view the ship it turns to reveal a fantastic blue number 4 on its side. The New Avengers (And Bob) will return!Cast of Thunderbolts*Florence Pugh - Yelena Belova/White WidowSebastian Stan - James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes/Winter SoldierJulia Louis-Dreyfus - Valentina Allegra de FontaineLewis Pullman - Robert “Bob” Reynolds/The Sentry/The VoidDavid Harbour - Alexei Shostakov/The Red GuardianWyatt Russell - John WalkerHannah John-Kamen - Ava Starr/GhostOlga Kurylenko - Antonia Dreykov/TaskmasterGeraldine Viswanathan - MelWendell Pierce - Congressman GaryChris Bauer - HoltSubscribe to TV Podcast IndustriesIf you want to keep up with us and all of our podcasts please subscribe to the podcast over at https://tvpodcastindustries.com where we will continue to podcast about multiple TV shows we hope you'll love.Next Time on Movies on TV Podcast IndustriesThanks so much for joining us for our Thunderbolts* Movie Review podcast.
