In this episode, we’re talking shareware, those free game demos we all grew up with. We look back on the ones we played the most, the shareware CDs we somehow ended up with, and whether or not we ever sent a check or money order to a random PO Box.

Then, we each played three shareware games the other remembers fondly but that we never tried ourselves.

In Episode 4 we’re talking about the unsung heroes of adventure games: NPCs. Whether they gave you a crucial item, delivered a line you still quote to this day, or just stood around being weird in the background, these Non-Playable Characters were the heart, soul, and unintentional comedy of so many memorable moments. Expect laughs, nostalgia, and a few tangents as we recall the characters that stuck with us long after the credits rolled.
