If you absolutely must go in the water, never enter alone, always wear a flotation device, and stay near a lifeguard. If you get caught in a rip, stay calm, don't fight it. Relax and float, then swim parallel to shore. Only swim toward the beach once you've escaped the current's grip. Looking ahead to Monday, good news. The rip current risk drops to moderate across the board. We'll see sunny to mostly sunny skies. Winds shift to the northwest at ten to twenty mph, diminishing through the day. Water temps hold steady in the lower sixties, and highs reach the mid to upper seventies. Still some chop with three feet of surf, but conditions improve significantly. Check with beach patrols before entering, and still swim near lifeguards. Tuesday shapes up as a beautiful beach day. Sunny skies, highs in the lower seventies, southwest winds around ten mph, and that moderate rip current risk continues. Three feet of surf should make for decent conditions. Wednesday brings some changes. Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing. Highs stay in the lower seventies with light south winds around ten mph. Rip current risk remains moderate. By Thursday, it gets warmer with highs reaching the lower to mid eighties, but we're tracking more shower and thunderstorm chances. South winds pick up to twenty mph. Rip current risk returns to moderate, and we could see some heavier rainfall moving through.
