The Reserve Bank of Australia has raised the cash rate by 0.25 percentage points to 4.6 per cent, adding pressure to household budgets and business borrowing costs. While the cash rate doesnt directly determine every loan rate, it can affect lenders funding costs, risk assessments and variable-rate repayments. Borrowers are encouraged to compare loans by their total cost, fees and repayment terms, and consider whether they could manage further rate rises. “No credit check” claims may still involve affordability checks, and loan approval is never guaranteed. Households and small businesses should review their budgets and ensure new commitments remain affordable over the full loan term.
