  • 1 Corinthians 8:9-13 | Victorious in Motherhood | Susan Tou
    2025/09/15

“As we are a community that’s centered on Christ, our allegiance and our loyalty is to Christ and no one else.” Today Aubrie sits down with her boss, our Director of Communications, Susan Tou to dig into part two of 1 Corinthians 8. God has given us the amazing gift of community and walking in faith alongside other believers. It is important to be aware of our thought life and how we are living because it not only affects us, but can either encourage or discourage our fellow believers. Let’s walk in a way that blesses others and brings glory to God!

    ABOUT OUR GUEST

Susan is the Director of Communications for Moms in Prayer International. Her background includes engineering, business, training, health/fitness and has over a decade of corporate experience. She participated in Moms in Prayer during the elementary school years for her now adult daughter and son. Suddenly widowed in December 2020, she knows well the demands of being a full-time working mom, stay-at-home mom, part-time working mom, empty nest mom, and now depends even more deeply on the Lord as a single mom. She is incredibly blessed to be the mom to her amazing, prayed-for children who inspire her every day. Susan is honored and humbled to serve, steward and pray in this global ministry which truly seeks to bring God glory through the power of prayer.

    SCRIPTURES

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV

There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Ephesians 4:4-6 ESV

I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10 ESV

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 ESV

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 ESV

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6 ESV

    ABOUT OUR GUESTS

Roger and Kendra Rock strive to be Christ followers. Roger has embraced his faith since childhood and channels his commitment not only into personal life but also through his work as a businessman. He treasures the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors for Moms in Prayer International, finding joy in supporting the organization’s mission and impact.

Kendra’s path as a prayer warrior began when her sons were just toddlers, igniting a lifelong pursuit of learning and practicing prayer. Her introduction to Moms in Prayer during her sons’ early school years marked the start of a faithful journey. She has participated in a Moms in Prayer group every year since. Today, she prays for her adult children in a career group and delights in lifting up her grandchildren in a Grandmas in Prayer group. Kendra also serves as the Southwest Division Coordinator for Moms in Prayer, serving the states of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, and New Mexico.

The Rocks make their home in Oklahoma, where they take great joy in their family—two adult sons, two wonderful daughters-in-love, and precious grandchildren. Roger and Kendra have been married 41 years and cherish time spent together. They enjoy taking walks, riding bikes together and being present for their grandchildren, both in play and in prayer.
