このコンテンツについて

Join hosts Rondah Worrell-Maik and Erik Williams as we deconstruct and decolonize our faith lives, one conversation at a time.

Unlike many other such podcasts, we are not biblical scholars, PhD’s or former pastors; we’re a pair of normal Canadian humans discussing things we’re hearing in church, learning in books, podcasts, and social media; digesting and synthesizing data to find ways to live out our faith lives in more inclusive and less harmful ways.

Following up on the previous episode, we continue our discussion on dismantling whiteness through the songs we sing and what we opt to include. We touch on evolution, reparation, and the trope of failing upward.

  • Battle Songs
    2025/11/30

Wherein we chat about how songs have the power to impact a listeners emotional state. We discuss how, as worship leaders at our own church, we’ve begun to notice how often the songs establish a sentiment of embattlement and persecution - to listeners primed to associate that persecution with living a Jesus-based life - which is then followed by sermons that reinforce those sentiments, sending people out into the world believing that their surrounded by enemies.

  • Re-Indigenizing
    2025/11/16

In which Rondah and Erik talk about the concept of re-indigenization, whereby descendants of colonial settlers can find reconnection to the indigenous lands of their ancestors to gain a better understanding the relationship between Indigenous peoples of North America and the lands known as Turtle Island. We go back to the beginnings of our respective de/reconstruction and decolonization journeys to better understand how we got here.
