This episode includes candid discussions about mental health, social anxiety, and suicide.
Real people, real places, real conversations—no studio, no script.
At the 2024 Podcast Summit in Atlanta, Peuge Benjamin sits down with David Solomon, a certified motivational speaker, youth advocate, and co-founder of a nonprofit focused on reducing the stigma around mental health.
David speaks openly about his own experiences, the importance of recognizing when it is okay to say, “I’m not okay,” and the responsibility to seek support. He also shares the work behind The State of the Black Man’s Mental Health, a space created to help Black men speak honestly about the challenges they carry.
The conversation moves through purpose, faith, social anxiety, mentorship, community, and the decision to keep showing up—even when fear, rejection, or past pain make it difficult. Together, Peuge and David reflect on what it means to turn pain into power and build spaces where people can be heard without judgment.
