All USA NRIs Are "Bandha" Parties? Here's Why

Everyone says USA NRIs are "bandha" parties — at least, that's what people say the moment you leave the room. But before you agree or get offended, there are actually three different things hiding inside that one word, and almost everyone mixes them up.

In this episode: why moving to America can turn an ordinary, middle-class, toilet-cleaning-on-Sunday life into something that looks like showing off — and why the world hands sympathy to Gulf NRIs but envy to USA NRIs for the exact same journey.

We get into:

• Why the exchange rate is doing the showing off, not you
• The "proof tax" — why NRIs over-explain their own lives
• Why Gulf gets pity and USA gets judged
• When it genuinely is bandha (this part will sting)
• The 6 rules that kill the "show-off" label on your next trip home
• The real cost of living as a highlight reel — and it isn't money

This one's closer to my heart than the usual money and immigration episodes. Less about numbers, more about the quiet thing a lot of us carry and never say out loud.

If you've been carrying this alone — the visa clock, the queue that won't move, the layoff you can't tell anyone about, the parents getting older 8,000 miles away — that's exactly what the Mindvoyz Inner Circle is for. No performance, no ranking, no converting dollars out loud.

Human rights and decency are at stake in the world's largest democracy. While there is plenty of blame to dole out to all parties (specifically the ruling parties) , urgent action is forthcoming to set right the shaken and stirred, but hopeful democracy

The podcast examines the double standards in dealing with the shocking happenings at Manipur. Who will clean this trash? Swach Bharat has to be more than cleaning out the physical trash.

The episode tackles the swirling controversy about the surprise ending of PS-II where legendary director Maniratnam delivers an unexpected climax with his own interpretation.

The episode analyses the blockbuster movie in three parts. The ugly parts- where the movie seems distorted from writer Kalki's avid fans' perspectives, the bad where character portrayals seem rushed or shallow, and the good and the amazing parts which are plenty

Good, Bad or Ugly, the movie is a knockout punch in two rounds, delivering the goods, exceeding expectations, and is a must watch for all ages. For now, no surprises, Maniratnam is crown king and he is not going to hand it over any time soon.
