However, most people refer to the baseball and civil rights legend as “Jackie” and not by his given name “Jack.” This week, Milton Alan Turner discusses how “Jackie” was a persona Robinson adopted to be more palatable to white America and why instead, as the title of Yohuru Williams’s and Michael G. Long’s book suggests, we should “Call Him Jack.”
