In our last episode, Rachel was surprised when Veronica agreed to invite some of her friends over. The afternoon would become even more special because Veronica's mom said she would prepare lunch. Unfortunately, after waiting for more than an hour, the luncheon never happened. At least this time, Rachel came to understand the problem.

In Chapter 10, Rachel's Aunt Marion believed Rachel and her cousin Veronica were getting along nicely. She even compared them to herself and Rachel's mom when they were girls. Unfortunately, Rachel couldn't get up the nerve to tell Aunt Marion how wrong he was. She decided to stay silent about the discourteous treatment she was receiving from Veronica every day.

In Chapter 9, we found that things weren't going so well for Rachel. Her parents were headed back to New Jersey and Veronica had made it clear that she was in charge. While remembering what her father said about showing kindness to others, Rachel couldn't see how she and Veronica could ever be Friends.

In our last episode, Rachel was on her way to her aunt and uncle's house in Chicago. Her feelings were mixed. Both her mom and dad assured her she was going to have a good time, but once she met her cousin Ronnie, Rachel didn't know what to expect.

In Chapter 7, Rachel realized her trip to Chicago was going to happen. In fact, before she could try and protest one last time, her bags had already been loaded into the car, and she was on her way. All she could do now was hope that her parents were right about the good time they believed awaited her.

Last week, the girls of the Double Dutch Club had a special surprise for Coach Hughes and she loved it. She did, however, sense something was bothering Rachel. When Rachel shared that she didn't want to go to Chicago, Coach Hughes encouraged her to try and see her trip as an opportunity to meet new people and learn new things.

In Chapter 5, Rachel dreaded the thought of letting her friends know she would be spending the summer in Chicago and not jumping Double Dutch with them. She knew the truth had to be told and was surprised by her friends' reaction to her news.
