Mighty Champions: Action Figure Radio is a weekly podcast for action figure collectors who never really stopped playing.

Hosted by lifelong collectors Jon Sargent and Christian McGahan, the show covers action figures and collectibles from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and today, with equal love for vintage classics and modern lines. From WWE, Marvel Legends, and DC Universe Classics to TMNT, Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Power Rangers, He-Man, and beyond, nothing is off the table if it belongs in the toy aisle conversation.

Each episode blends nostalgia, current hobby news, and real collector perspective. The hosts break down new reveals, recent pickups, and major moments in toy history, while also getting into group toy hunts, live drafts, secondary-market chaos, Whatnot sales, convention stories, and the way collecting actually fits into adult life.

This isn’t an instruction manual or a hype machine. It’s a hangout for collectors who’ve been doing this long enough to have opinions, stories, wins, losses, and shelves that tell a story. Sometimes the show goes deep on a single era or toy line. Sometimes it turns into a creative exercise about how and why we connect with these figures in the first place.

If you collect loose, mint on card, or somewhere in between, and if you enjoy talking toys with people who genuinely love the hobby, this is your spot.

New episodes every week.

  • Action Figure Shrines vs One & Done Collecting
    2026/07/13

This week on Mighty Champions: Action Figure Radio, Jon makes the biggest sale of his collecting career, saying goodbye to his entire GI Joe Classified collection along with select Marvel Legends and WWE figures. Why sell? What changed? And what does it feel like watching years of collecting leave all at once?

Then we debut a brand-new segment as we build our ultimate collector shrines. Jon assembles the foundation of an Incredible Hulk display, complete with live eBay purchases made during the show, while Christian breaks down the essential pieces for a 1998 Godzilla shrine. From action figures and VHS tapes to magazines, memorabilia, and grail items, we discuss what belongs, what doesn’t, and why.

Of course, we cover the biggest action figure news of the week, including major DC Multiverse reveals from McFarlane Toys, Mondo’s San Diego Comic-Con Real Ghostbusters and TMNT announcements, plus a look at the incredible prices collectors paid at the latest Hake’s Auctions.

Finally, Christian turns the tables and interrogates Jon’s entire collecting philosophy. Why is he obsessed with owning just one version of every character? How can someone have rigid collecting rules and still buy impulsively? And where is the line between an impressive display and pure clutter?

Whether you’re into Marvel Legends, GI Joe Classified, DC Multiverse, TMNT, Godzilla, wrestling figures, or just the psychology behind collecting, this episode has something for every toy fan.

  • Ranking EVERY X-Men '97 Marvel Legends Figure & 5 Legendary Rare Bois
    2026/07/06

This week on Mighty Champions: Action Figure Radio, we kick things off by catching up on a week of toy hunting after our excellent adventure from the previous weekend, which leads to one of Jon’s all-time anti-Walmart rants. Then we Rank Every X-Men ’97 Marvel Legends figure released so far, from worst to best.

In the news, we discuss whether McFarlane is finished with DC Multiverse or simply waiting for San Diego Comic-Con, the wave of new Mattel WWE pre-orders, the Marvel Legends two-pack neither of us asked for, Mondo’s TMNT teases, Boss Fight Studio’s original Hero H.A.C.K.S. line, and some of the most fascinating action figures and collectibles that sold at auction this week.

Finally, it’s time for Rare Bois, as we tell the stories behind five of the most legendary grails in toy collecting across G.I. Joe, Masters of the Universe, WWF, Star Wars, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Why are these figures so rare? Why are collectors willing to spend thousands to own them? We break down the history and talk prices.

  • The Most Money We Have Ever Spent on Action Figures!
    2026/06/29

Today, we recount the most expensive toy hunting trip we’ve ever taken. What started as a visit to Retromania in Dripping Springs, Texas, quickly turned into a full-blown toy odyssey. After scoring incredible hauls at the show, we still weren’t satisfied, so we made a two-hour detour to two more toy stores in San Antonio, leading to even more major purchases. We break down the entire adventure, the stories behind the finds, and every action figure we brought home.

Then we dive into a collector discussion about toy stores and toy shows, sharing our thoughts on what sellers do that keeps collectors coming back—and the things we’d love to see changed.

As always, we bring you the latest action figure news, including the biggest announcements from Yo Joe June, where legendary G.I. Joe writer Larry Hama unveiled his new Fury Force line for BigBadToyStore, plus the surprising news that reports of AEW Jazwares’ demise may have been greatly exaggerated with the announcement of new Ringside Collectibles exclusives featuring Sting and Will Ospreay.

If you love toy hunting, action figures, G.I. Joe, WWE, AEW, Marvel Legends, TMNT, DC, Power Rangers, Rambo, Terminator, Hulk, Predator, Rocky, Spider-Man, Captain America, vintage toys, and collector stories from the road, this is an episode you won’t want to miss.
