They provide peer-educational support group services for self-identified experiencers of sexual assault and center the lived experiences of Black women and girls in Southeast Michigan and beyond. Gathered Words contains poetry, short fiction, and creative nonfiction by women writers from the U.S., Canada, and Scotland—all members of The Writers Community, an international group writing coach Lynne Golodner founded during the pandemic to connect writers virtually and encourage them to share their voices. Help promote ‘Safe Sleep’ during the national Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Awareness Month and Michigan’s Safe Sleep Month. Shirley Gray, director of Maternal Child Health for Detroit, joins Michigan Voices. The University of Detroit-Mercy has just opened its state-of-the-art Black Box Theatre located on the McNichols Campus. The theatre aims to provide a vibrant space for students and faculty to explore creativity and showcase their talents, enhancing the arts and culture on campus and beyond.
