For more than three decades, the disappearance of Michaela "Kayla" Garecht drew false confessions, dead-end digs, and a parade of suspects. A lying jailhouse tipster, a convicted child killer, the notorious "Speed Freak Killers" and a well full of bones. Before finally, a partial palm print was pulled from Kayla's scooter. Each lead raised her family's hopes; each one broke their hearts. Decades after a stranger drove her away, a charge would finally name a suspect, even as a mother refused to stop searching for the truth about what happened to her daughter.
