  • Mic 2 Mic - Wayne Larrivee
    2026/01/17

Sometimes the moments that change our lives begin when we least expect them.

In 2013, after visiting his daughter and going the entire night without sleep, Snowman made the walk to historic Hinkle Fieldhouse. He was there to cover a women’s basketball game between the UIC Flames and the Butler Bulldogs.

Once inside, Snowman spotted Wayne Larrivee, the legendary longtime radio voice of the Green Bay Packers and former voice of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls. Snowman gathered the courage to walk over, introduce himself, and have a wonderful conversation with one of the football voices who had inspired his own journey behind the microphone.

As Wayne prepared to leave, he gave Snowman a challenge:

“If UIC wins, you have to use my trademark line: ‘And there is your dagger!’”

Wayne gave him a fist bump and walked out of Hinkle Fieldhouse.

    UIC won.

And Snowman put in the dagger.

What began as an unexpected meeting became a treasured broadcasting memory. Snowman could never have imagined what that moment would eventually become.

Now, more than a decade later, the story comes full circle as Snowman proudly welcomes the great Wayne Larrivee to Episode 7 of Mic 2 Mic.

Two broadcasters. Two journeys. One unforgettable conversation.

From that sleepless walk to Hinkle Fieldhouse, to the fist bump, to the dagger, and now to this moment behind the microphones, sometimes magic really does happen.

  • Mic 2 Mic - John J. Kulidas
    2026/01/17

Some interviews celebrate a career. This one celebrates the man who helped make a career possible.

In Episode 6 of Mic 2 Mic, Snowman welcomes his hero, mentor, and longtime friend, John J. Kulidas.

The story began in 1995 at WCSU, the radio station of Chicago State University. John heard a young Brian Snow performing an impression of his broadcasting hero, the legendary Jim Durham. John heard more than an impression. He heard potential.

He took a chance on Snowman.

Snowman took a chance on a dream.

That opportunity became the foundation of a broadcasting journey that is now entering its 31st season behind the microphone.

John did more than give Snowman his first chance in broadcasting. Through professional triumphs, personal struggles, unforgettable highs, and painful lows, John remained supportive. The opportunity grew into a friendship that has endured for more than three decades and remains strong today.

    Now the microphones have turned.

The man who once opened the studio door for Snowman becomes his guest on Mic 2 Mic. The student gets to interview the mentor. The broadcaster gets to thank the man who first believed in him. The dream that began at WCSU comes full circle.

This is not simply another episode.

This is Snowman sitting across from one of his heroes.

    This is gratitude.

    This is friendship.

This is 31 seasons of broadcasting made possible because one man listened, believed, and said yes.

Join us for a deeply personal Episode 6 of Mic 2 Mic with John J. Kulidas.
