The New York Mets finished the 2026 season with a 74-88 record, placing fifth in the NL East. In this mailbag, we discuss executive David Stearns' comments on Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor's historic 300th career home run, and the bizarre roster construction featuring five first basemen including Mark Vientos, Eric Wagaman, and Jared Young.

We analyze the bullpen struggles highlighted by the season finale loss to Washington, where Andrés Chaparro hit two home runs. Topics include the future of Juan Soto, the development of Ronny Mauricio at shortstop, and potential free agent targets like Tarik Skubal to bolster the starting rotation alongside Sean Manaea and Kodai Senga.

Listeners will hear predictions for the 2027 season, ranging from 78 to 84 wins, and insights into how the automated ball-strike system impacts pitching strategies. Key players discussed are Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, Devin Williams, and Brett Baty.
