Mental Health Part 1: Tussle

  • サマリー

  • It's time to clock in with Kay & Elle!

This week's episode begins a two-part series on mental health, its intersection with being Black, and its intersection in the workplace. In part 1, we discuss the intersection of mental health and Blackness, as well as common mental health issues in the workplace. To begin, we want to be clear that this discussion is not exhaustive. We understand that we are not mental health professionals, but wanted to touch on a topic that is so important to many Black women's professional well-being. Likewise, we realize there are several implications we carry in our privilege as lighter skinned Black women, and how that plays a role in navigating mental health issues in the workplace. We recognize colorism at play in the workplace and understand our responsibility to recognize our privilege. So, just know that we WILL be discussing this more in part 2 when we talk through solutions. For now, we hope that we can shed light on some issues and take a deeper dive with you in a couple of weeks.
