Dr. Mike Bueno is a Registered Nurse and an Associate Clinical Professor at the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at UC Irvine. His research focuses on the experiences of the understudied population of male caregivers for persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia, and how masculinity and gendered expectations influence their caregiver role. Hear why he didn’t initially want to be a nurse when he graduated high school, how to find your first nursing job & nursing specialty, the reality of being a male nurse, how he got into teaching nursing, and the most fascinating insights from his research.
