We live in a world that is constantly entertaining us. Sports, TV, video games, social media, so many things compete for our attention. And while there’s nothing wrong with enjoying entertainment, we ll need to be careful that the things competing for our attention don’t become the things consuming our lives. As Christian men, we don’t need more entertainment. We have plenty of that already. What we desperately need is more of God’s word, more of his presence, more of his power, and more of his direction in our lives. Are we making as much room for God in our daily lives as we’re making for entertainment? We can’t expect to grow spiritually, develop deeper intimacy with Jesus, and become the men God has called us to be, if we’re continually filling our minds with everything this world has to offer, while neglecting the very word that gives us life. It’s time to be intentional. It’s time to prioritize opening our Bibles, spending time with God, and letting His word shape our thinking, strengthen our faith, and direct our steps.
