On this episode of The Kelly Mac Show Podcast, Kelly welcomes the legendary singer, actress, and Tony Award winner for a conversation about music, Broadway, faith, and embracing what comes next. Melba reflects on the musical family that shaped her, her groundbreaking experience in Hair, and the friendships she formed behind the scenes—including sharing a dressing room with Diane Keaton. She also shares how learning to audition led her to Purlie, where a connection to the woman who helped raise her informed her Tony-winning performance. The conversation turns to her memoir, This Is It! Marvelous and Getting Better, and the songs that mark different chapters of her life. Melba opens up about her spiritual journey, the role faith plays in her work, and why she continues to welcome new experiences. Kelly also gets a glimpse of Melba’s adventurous side, from her love of water sports to her interest in trying skydiving. Her advice for anyone putting a dream on hold is simple: time is short—try it. Stay through the end for her single “Love Wins Every Time” and the personal meaning she finds in its message.
