Comedian Megan Gailey loves the Indianapolis Colts. The Indianapolis Colts have not always returned that love.

A.M. Pfeffer sits down with the Indianapolis native, lifelong Colts fan and Sports Bitches host for a very necessary examination of what decades of Indianapolis football have done to her.

Before the Institute opens, Megan talks about growing up in a sports-obsessed Indiana family, Purdue vs. Indiana, raising the next generation of Colts and Pacers fans, filming her comedy special Live From My Driveway while eight months pregnant, returning to stand-up just weeks after giving birth, and getting the extremely satisfying assignment of writing for The Roast of Tom Brady.

Then we get to the football damage.

Megan revisits the Colts' brutal 2025 collapse after an 8–2 start, Daniel Jones' injury, Indianapolis trading two first-round picks and AD Mitchell for Sauce Gardner, the current state of the Colts — and why she's reached the point where simply having everybody enjoy themselves feels like progress.

Then the Hometown Blues Institute of Football Psychology opens for three assessments.

First, Megan enters the Indianapolis Quarterback Estate Sale, where Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan, Gardner Minshew, Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones must each be classified: Keep, Donate or Destroy.

But there's one final item at the bottom of the box:

Andrew Luck.

Next comes the Colts Banner Eligibility Hearing, where Megan determines exactly how little the Colts need to accomplish before she's willing to hang another banner inside Lucas Oil Stadium.

Finally, the Peyton Manning Standard of Care examines whether growing up with one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history permanently destroyed Megan's understanding of what normal quarterback play should look like.

The results lead the Institute somewhere unexpected.

Despite everything Indianapolis has put her through, Megan remains perhaps the world's most committed Anthony Richardson Sr. believer.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS:
DSM 1.09 — Backup Quarterback Preference Disorder

Symptoms include excessive optimism toward QB2, emotional attachment to unrealized upside, suspicious interest in preseason throws and complete confidence in the backup quarterback — right up until he becomes the starter.
