  • Highlights from ASRS 2026
    2026/08/03

In this episode of Meeting Mic, we bring you pearls and perspectives from the American Society of Retina Specialists Annual Meeting.

In an interview, Anat Loewenstein, MD, MHA, of Tel Aviv Medical Center, talks about how Home OCT combined with an AI analysis helped in the early detection of retinal fluid in patients with age-related macular degeneration.

Next, David Almeida, MD, MBA, PhD, of Erie Retina Research in Pennsylvania, talks about how CG-P5, a topical peptide eye drop, met safety and efficacy endpoints for wet age-related macular degeneration.

Hasenin Al-khersan, MD, discusses findings from a retrospective study on pegcetacoplan slowing photoreceptor and retinal pigment epithelium loss in patients with geographic atrophy only as well as patients with GA and concurrent wet age-related macular degeneration.

Sunir J. Garg, MD, FACS, FASRS, discusses findings from a real-world study about suprachoroidal triamcinolone acetonide having a durable effect in patients with chronic cystoid macular edema.

And, Christina Y. Weng, MD, MBA, FASRS, of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston tells us about her study on systemic statin use reducing the rate of proliferative vitreoretinopathy and reoperation following primary retinal detachment repair by nearly half.
