ilmmaker and artist Paul Davids is from Bethesda, Maryland, and has a B.A. in Psychology from Princeton University. He was one of the first fellowship students at the American Film Institute Center for Advanced Film Studies. He has been producing, directing and writing films and TV series episodes that have been on television for over 30 years. In addition to writing many books (including 6 STAR WARS sequel books for Lucasfilm with his wife, Hollace Davids), Paul’s earliest work for television began in the mid-1980’s, when he was a segment producer for F. Lee Bailey’s daily syndicated show LIE DETECTOR, this while production coordinator and writer for Marvel Productions “The Transformers.” Paul was the Executive Producer and cowriter of Showtime’s major 1994 TV success. ROSWELL: THE UFO COVERUP starring Kyle MacLachlan, Martin Sheen and Dwight Yoakam. The film was nominated for a Golden Globe as Best Motion Picture for Television, and has become a cult classic of the UFO genre. Davids produced and directed hist first feature film, “Timothy Leary’s Dead,” a documentary-biography of the renegade, counter-culture Harvard psychology professor. He has continued to produce and direct feature length, award-winning documentaries since then, many of which have been distributed to international TV by NBCUniversal. They include STARRY NIGHT, THE ARTIST AND THE SHAMAN, and THE SCI-FI BOYS which charted the history of special effects in movies since the silent days up to Peter Jackson’s KING KONG, Peter Jackson hosting the film. Other documentaries written, produced and directed by Paul include JESUS IN INDIA, THE LIFE AFTER DEATH PROJECT (1, 2 and 3), MARILYN MONROE DECLASSIFIED, and BEFORE WE SAY GOODBYE. In addition, Davids is a respected artist with seven books of his oil paintings now published. Other of his books include An Atheist in The Ultimate Evidence For Life After Death, and Blowing America’s Mind: A True Story of Princeton, CIA Mind Control, LSD, and Zen.
