Matthew 7:1-6 Bible Study

In this episode, we dive into the opening verses of Matthew Chapter 7 to unpack one of the most frequently quoted—and misunderstood—passages in all of Scripture: "Judge not, that you be not judged."
Is Jesus telling us never to exercise discernment, or is He calling out something deeper? Join us as we explore the context behind Jesus' teachings on the Sermon on the Mount, the trap of Pharisaical hypocritical judgment, and how to use God's Word as a mirror for self-examination rather than a weapon against others.
In this episode, we cover:
- Reading in Context: Why isolated verses can lead us astray and how understanding continuous biblical context changes everything.
- The Heart Check: Shifting our focus from trying to change others to allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us.
- Righteous Judgment vs. Hypocrisy: Unpacking the famous "speck and log" illustration and learning how to correct others with love and outstretched hands.
- Pearls Before Swine (Matthew 7:6): Exercising holy discernment, protecting the sacred message of the Gospel, and responding gracefully to hostility.
