We saw a really strong finish to the grain and livestock trade on Friday after a volatile week of trading and market moving headlines. The question now is whether or not next week's Midwest Crop Tour will actually confirm some of the big yield estimates from USDA? Plus, an update on screwworm had the cattle on edge to close the week.

Brian Grete, Sr. Grain and Livestock Analyst for Commstock Investments joins us today for a conversation and analysis of this week's market trade. He also shares some direct insight and experience into what could be seen on next week's crop tour. More at https://www.commstock.com.

Also in segment four of today's show, Susan Littlefield joins us with market perspective from Mark Gold with Top Third, a division of StoneX.

On Tuesday, USDA dropped a massive yield estimate for corn at 188.8 bushels per acre for this growing season. That number, along with the 2025/26 corn production forecasted at a record 16.7 billion bushels, would be 1.4 billion bushels more than the prior record set in 2023/24. Meanwhile, USDA also forecasted a slightly higher soybean yield at 53.6 bushels per acre on the August WASDE Report. What do all of these numbers mean for the markets and how did the trade react on Tuesday?

Tyler Schau with AgMarket.net and Craig Turner with StoneX joins us on today's show for recap and analysis.

An overnight social media post from President Trump sparked buying in soybean futures to start the week as he indicated "he hopes China will quickly quadruple its soybean orders" from the U.S. due to short supplies in China. Then, President Trump signed an executive order shortly after lunch on Monday that extends the tariff pause between the U.S. and China for another 90 days. What does this all mean for the markets? John Heinberg with Total Farm Marketing joins us to discuss. Find more online at https://www.totalfarmmarketing.com.

We saw a fair amount of severe weather and heavy rain over the weekend causing flooding in some areas. How is that impacting late season crop development AND could we see some heat/dryness concerns for some parts of the U.S. this week or not? Eric Snodgrass with Nutrien Ag Solutions joins us for our Weekly Weather Update. Learn more at https://www.ag-wx.com.
