The 2026 Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT are fast approaching, with both events to bring racing back to the Snaefell Mountain Course once more from 16-28 August.

When it comes to the Manx Grand Prix specifically, a lot of what it takes to put the event on falls on the meeting's organisers, the Manx Motor Cycle Club.

And as with any motorsport event around the world, the club is having to balance getting things ready for the here and now whilst also looking at how to progress going forward.

John McBride is the chair of the Manx Motor Cycle Club and we've been speaking with him to get his thoughts on the status of the Manx Grand Prix in the road racing world and to find out how preparations have been going for 2026:

Just a few days now remain until the scheduled start of the 2026 Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT.

Both meetings are due to run alongside each other during a near two-week period, getting underway on Sunday, 16 August with the first MGP qualifying sessions.

And as that date approaches, members of the community both on and off-Island are being called upon to offer a helping hand to make sure that racing and practice can go ahead.

The Isle of Man TT Marshals is on the lookout for volunteers - both new and experienced - to help run sessions throughout both meetings this month.

FC Isle of Man's opening fixture of the 2026/27 NWCFL Premier Division season will be the start of 'something positive'.

That is from manager Lee Dixon as The Ravens take on FC St Helens at home this Saturday (1 August).

Dixon's hoping his side can improve on last season where the team finished 20th in the league table.

However, he says progress will take time.
