In this true crime story, the shocking murder of 59-year-old Sunday Perkins in Miller, South Dakota, uncovers a disturbing mystery involving teenage girls, unlawful confinement, a hidden farmhouse operation, and a deadly confrontation. When Sunday’s body is discovered inside her rural home in July 2021, investigators initially focus on a brutal homicide involving a frying pan, but the crime scene soon reveals locked closets, makeshift bathrooms, and evidence that vulnerable teenagers had been kept inside the farmhouse. Sixteen-year-old Lissette Preston and 17-year-old Izakaya Brown become central to the investigation after describing how they were allegedly confined and their desperate attempts to escape. Detectives uncover Sunday’s bizarre “baby farm” scheme, raising questions about exploitation, kidnapping, fear, self-defense, and criminal responsibility.
