Kirsta Melton is running as an Independent for Hays County Criminal District Attorney, and she comes to the race after spending her career inside the courtroom. She’s prosecuted everything from domestic violence and child abuse to sexual assault, capital murder and human trafficking. Fighting trafficking is also a family affair - Kirsta, her mom and sisters helped found what became Truckers Against Trafficking, and she now leads the Institute to Combat Trafficking.
