このコンテンツについて
This episode features Vikramaditya Motwane, anecdotes from Rajat Barmecha and the making-of story of Udaan. In the year 2010, a first-time director made a small film about a teenage boy rebelling against his authoritarian father. The film had a relatively low-key cast, it didn’t cost very much to make, and the bulk of it was shot in the very unglamorous city of Jamshedpur. Still, Udaan got the best reviews of the year. It became the first Indian film in seven years to be in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival. Nine years later, it remains as wonderfully evocative and deeply affecting. It’s a film that’s found its audience over the years; a legion of fans who swear by it. The film’s writer-director Vikramaditya Motwane joins Rajeev in this episode to talk about his film.
