  • Gabri Segui: Talking About Grief When No One Else Will
    2026/06/01

This week, we’re talking about something that touches all of our lives but often goes unspoken: grief. Gabri Segui, creator and host of the My Mom Died Podcast, joins us for an honest conversation about losing her mom unexpectedly and how that experience inspired her to create a platform where people can talk openly about loss.

Together, we explore the isolation that can come with grief, the pressure to "move on," how loss changes relationships, and why it's so important to create space for difficult conversations. Gabri also shares how poetry, podcasting, and community have helped her navigate her own healing while helping others feel less alone. Along the way, we talk about the beauty of remembering the people we love and the ways they continue to shape who we are.

Follow Gabri and the My Mom Died Podcast on Instagram and TikTok and listen to the full podcast on your favorite listening platform.

This conversation is vulnerable, thoughtful, and a reminder that grief isn't something we "get over." It's something we learn to carry, and talking about it can make that journey a little less lonely.

    2026/04/16

We took this week’s episode outside and recorded in Griffith Park with Jason Wise, an environmental educator and queer ecologist who is helping people reconnect with the nature all around them. As part of our Earth Day series, Jason shares how he went from working in policy to leading foraging hikes and teaching others how to see the world differently.

We talk about foraging, invasive vs native plants, and how something as simple as going on a walk can completely shift your perspective. Jason also shares what it means to be a queer ecologist, how nature challenges a lot of societal norms, and why building community is just as important as connecting with the environment.
