The Houston Astros finished 81-81 with an AL West title but were swept by the Chicago White Sox in the Wild Card round. Manager Joe Espada's contract status is uncertain as he expresses desire to return. Key injuries to Cristian Javier, Enyel De Los Santos, and Brice Matthews have created a massive void in the rotation and bullpen.

Hosts Paige and Craig analyze the impact of these injuries on Hunter Brown's workload and discuss potential offseason moves. They cover the catcher situation with Yainer Diaz and Joey Bart, and evaluate the crowded outfield with prospects like Joey Loperfido and Taylor Trammell. The episode also touches on the bullpen logjam with Josh Hader and Bryan Abreu leading a deep group.

The hosts predict the Astros will acquire veteran pitching depth before the 2027 season to support their core stars including Jose Altuve, Yordan Alvarez, and Jeremy Pena. They also discuss the likelihood of Espada remaining manager despite the playoff exit.

In this episode: Joe Espada's Future & Catcher Questions · Outfield Battles & Bullpen Logjam · Hypotheticals & Lightning Round.
