Tonight's Reveal — Following the Music
Tonight, we're following the music wherever it takes us.
We begin with Joe Walsh, bringing his unmistakable musical personality to the Eagles, followed by the funk-driven energy of Living Colour.
Then, John Lennon and the Beatles take us back to a remarkable recording, “The Ballad of John and Yoko.” Listen closely to Lennon's voice. Sometimes the greatest revelations are found in the simplest recordings.
From there, we're heading into the musical imagination of Pink Floyd and the wonderful, ever-changing sounds of Fleetwood Mac.
We'll slow things down with the Grateful Dead and the beautiful “Ripple,” before moving into Poco and the Guess Who.
More Fleetwood Mac follows, along with an extended visit to the music of Hookfoot, a band well worth rediscovering.
Then we'll spend some time with Matthews Southern Comfort, Gregg Allman, and Graham Nash—three very different musical voices, each with something special to say.
We'll turn up the energy with Mark Farner and Grand Funk Railroad, including “Don't Have to Sing the Blues No More,” followed by the Allman Brothers Band, featuring Duane Allman on the extraordinary “One Way Out.”
And tonight, we're opening another doorway into the music of Jim Morrison and the Doors, with a new Reveal of their psychedelic masterpiece, “Light My Fire.”
There's more ahead from the Who and Yes, featuring the magnificent “I've Seen All Good People.”
As the evening begins to wind down, we'll return to Gregg Allman, spend some time with the thoughtful songwriting of Jackson Browne, and enjoy another beautiful recording from Fleetwood Mac.
And we'll finish tonight with one of the most unmistakable voices in popular music—the great Van Morrison.
Throughout tonight's program, listen a little closer.
Follow the bass lines, the guitar harmonies, the voices behind the voices, and those wonderful little musical details that sometimes disappear into the background.
Because the music that shaped our lives, our thoughts, and our vision of the future is still here.
We just need to find it again.
This is the Magic Mushroom Hour.
We follow the signal. Let the frequencies guide you.
