THE REVEAL — TONIGHT!
New equipment. A whole new sound.
Tonight we're going to listen a little differently.
We're peeling back the layers of some classic recordings, revealing musical details that have always been there—but that you may never have really heard before.
Don't listen louder. Listen deeper.
Opening tonight with the Marshall Tucker Band, the Doobie Brothers, and the incredible combination of Greg Lake, Carl Palmer and Keith Emerson.
Then a powerful set from Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull.
We'll hear a song Greg Lake wrote when he was still a teenager—the timeless “Lucky Man”—followed by one of the great pieces of progressive rock: YES and “Heart of the Sunrise.”
One of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs, “Station Man,” followed by some wonderfully emotional Elton John from Tumbleweed Connection.
Then we're off on “Many a Mile to Freedom” with Steve Winwood and Traffic before moving into Van Morrison and “Brown Eyed Girl.”
We'll spend some time Sittin' In with Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina, including “Angry Eyes” and “Rock & Roll Mood.”
Then one of those pieces of music that simply stops me in my tracks: the beautiful guitar harmony of Dickey Betts surrounding Gregg Allman on “Melissa.”
CSN with “49 Bye-Byes,” followed by Neil Young and Crazy Horse with “Lookin' for a Love.”
Then a beautiful Tom Petty song—the kind only Petty could create—before moving into the extraordinary harmonies of CSN on “Helplessly Hoping.”
And from there, my favorite Stephen Stills song:
“4 + 20.”
Blackberry Smoke brings us “Ain't Got the Blues Anymore,” with that wonderful Kenny Starr steel guitar adding another voice to the music.
And we'll close quietly with Cat Stevens and the beautiful “The Wind.”
But tonight, don't just listen to the songs.
Listen for the bass player hiding underneath the melody.
Listen for the second guitar.
Follow one harmony voice through the others.
Listen for the fingers on the strings, the piano behind the singer, and even the sound of the room.
The music hasn't changed.
Your window into it has.
Tonight on the Magic Mushroom Hour...
THE REVEAL.
Don't change the music. Reveal the music.
Different decades.
Different sounds.
But listen closely...
There is a thread running through all of it.
One generation hears what the generation before it created...
takes it apart...
turns it sideways...
turns it louder...
and creates something new.
That's how music moves forward.
And that's why we keep going back.
🔐 THE MAGIC MUSHROOM MUSIC VAULTDeep cuts. Forgotten treasures. Timeless sounds.
Turn it up.
Put on the headphones.
Listen to the bass.
Listen to the guitar moving across the room.
Listen to the space between the notes.
Because this music was never meant to be wallpaper.
It was meant to be heard.
🌌 I am Omega... a traveler of frequencies.
The vault is open. We follow the signal... and let the music lead the way.
